Use

The Automated Note Search Tool allows you to search for and implement (by calling SNOTE) correction notes from SAP.

Prerequisites

A problem or bug or issue in the standard SAP code for which a SAP correction note could exist.

Procedure

  1. Logon to the system and call transaction ANST_SEARCH_TOOL.

  2. Choose the execution data where the issues exist and provide the necessary information.

    Example Example

‘OASV’ - if the execution data is a transaction.

    End of the example.
  3. In the Trace Description field, provide a short description of the trace that you are about to create and click the Execute button or (F8) to start the Automated Note Search Tool.

  4. Now, replicate the issue in the system and press the enter button.

  5. Click the Back button or (F3) to go back.

  6. Now, control is passed back to the Note Search Tool. The list of application components involved in the execution is displayed. Select the component or components that could contain the problem and click the Note Search button.

The tool now starts searching for relevant correction notes from SAP. The status of the search is displayed at the foot of the screen.

Note Note

ANST works based on the characteristics of the trace (created while replicating the issue in the system). It is necessary to replicate the issue with as few steps as possible. This prevents the tool from listing unnecessary objects and thereby displaying irrelevant corrections notes.

End of the note.

Result

The list of SAP correction notes (which are not yet implemented in the system) that could solve or alleviate the issue is displayed. Click on a note number to read the note in detail. You can implement any of these notes in your system just by double—clicking one of them in the Download Note column. If the issue is solved, the corresponding note is not displayed in the next note search.
