Standard Service Providers
Supplied
SAP supplies a range of service providers. Service providers can be used in both Records Management and in Case Management. In the registry, the service providers for Records Management are assigned to the area S_AREA_RMS. The service providers for Case Management are assigned to the area S_AREA_CMG. All of the Records Management service providers can also be registered in the Case Management area (S_AREA_CMG), and thus used in Case Management. To register a service provider, create a new service provider in the area S_AREA_CMG, and then assign the classes of the service provider registered in the area S_AREA_RMS to this new service provider.
The following service providers are only relevant for Case Management, and are documented below:
· Service Provider for Cases
· Service provider for the case locator
· Service Provider for Case Notes
· Service Provider for Case Records

information on all other service providers supplied by SAP, see the section
Standard Service
Providers Supplied in the Records Management documentation.
SAP supplies one standard element type for each service provider.
All service providers publish SP POID parameters (POID = Persistent Object ID), connection parameters, and optional context parameters.
The SP POID parameters, together with the element type ID and the RMS ID, identify a single element of the service provider. When an element is created, the system automatically enters values for the SP POID.
The connection parameters are important in Customizing, because you need to enter values for the connection parameters when you create element types. To create element types, you use the IMG activity Set Registry. To create element types, you need to know which values are possible for the connection parameters of each service provider. This background knowledge is provided in the individual sections on each service provider.
Context parameters enable you to transfer all types of information from one service provider to another. The context parameters are not relevant for Case Management.
