Function documentation Configuration Wizard  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Once you have installed an SAP NetWeaver system and applied the latest kernel and Support Packages, the Configuration Wizard supports you in performing configuration tasks in an automated way and thus simplifies the setup of your system. It guides you through the configuration process and offers a uniform user interface for all steps. It enables you to execute configuraiton tasks across multiple components.

Caution

You can run the configuration wizard only once and only directly after installing and patching your SAP system.

You cannot use the Configuration Wizard after:

§         Upgrade

§         Add-In installation

§         Enabling additional usage types

In these cases, you need to manually perform the corresponding configuration steps.

This does not apply to connectivity configuration templates and the configuration task for BI Java. You can run them several times and after all use cases.

For more information about manual configuration steps, connectivity configuration templates, and BI Java configuration, see Wizard-Based Configuration.

Prerequisites

You have applied the latest kernel and all ABAP and Java Support Packages to your system. For more information, see Applying the Latest Kernel and Support Packages in the installation guide of your product at http://service.sap.com/instguides.

Note

You can find the latest LMTOOLS patch at http://service.sap.com/swdc à Support Packages and Patches à Search for Support Packages and Patches. Search for LMTOOLS*P. Download and save the sca file. Apply the patch using the SDM.

Integration

·        You make the technical settings with the Configuration Wizard immediately after installing an SAP NetWeaver system.

·        The Configuration Wizard is part of the SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

·        You use the Configuration Wizard for the technical configuration. The SAP NetWeaver installation guide contains detailed information about the configuration tasks.

Features

The Configuration Wizard makes the technical settings (technical configuration) in an automated way. It allows you to enter the same data centrally, once only, for example connectivity, service users, and so on. The system distributes this data automatically in the SAP NetWeaver system.

Different Configuration Views
