Integrating SAP XI 2.0 Business Partners 

The following documentation describes how you can connect a business partner who uses SAP XI 2.0 to the usage type PI Integration Server.

Use

A business partner has a business system environment, which uses SAP XI 2.0, and which is connected to the PI Integration Server of another business partner by means of the XI 2.0 Integration Server. The business partner that uses PI wants to exchange messages with the SAP XI 2.0 business system landscape. The messages are to be exchanged in XI 2.0 message format.

Description

The SAP XI 2.0 Integration Server receives a message from the system landscape and converts it to the XI 2.0 message protocol. It then forwards it to the PI Integration Server of the business partner. The PI Integration Server receives the message and converts it to the XI message protocol.

To forward a message from the PI Integration Server to a receiver business system in the SAP XI 2.0 system landscape of a business partner, the PI Integration Server converts the message to SAP XI 2.0 message protocol, and then sends it to the SAP XI 2.0 Integration Server of the business partner. The SAP XI 2.0 Integration Server then converts it to the format required by the receiver system and forwards it to that system.
