Managing Activities in the Activity Viewer
Use this procedure to manage activities related to an operation that is performed on the Services or Task Planner screen. The activity viewer displays an overview of all the activities that are currently running or have previously been executed. An activity that represents individual operations on services consists of several activity steps.
In the activity viewer, you can view detailed information, such as the state of the activity steps and the dependencies between those activity steps. For example, if an executed operation fails, you can view the details about the respective failed activity step and navigate to the respective log entry. You can control the executed operation by performing various control operations such as cancel, suspend, resume, or remove on each activity.
You have executed one operation on any required system.
Choose the Activities tab from the navigation panel.
You can view the Activity Overview, and the Activity Steps area.
To view the details of an activity, select the required activity from the Activity Overview area.
The corresponding activity steps are displayed below. For each activity step the successor step details are displayed in the Successor Steps column in the table.
Perform the following operations on the activities as required:

Note
When Cancel operation is executed, the activity is set to the Canceling state and the system waits for the executing activity steps to come to a consistent end state. The system releases the lock on the respective services and resources when the activities are finished. The activity steps that are in the Initial state are immediately cancelled. When all the executing activity steps are finished, the state of the activity changes to Canceled.
Note
When Cancel hard operation is executed, the activity that is in the state Executing or Suspended is immediately canceled, without any waiting time. The system releases the locks on the respective services and resources immediately on choosing the Cancel Hard button. However, the operations that have been already triggered are left to normal termination as they cannot be canceled using the Cancel Hard button.
Note
By default, the activity details are automatically deleted from the database after 30 days. You can also set this time limit during the configuration of ACC in NetWeaver Administrator.
