Procedure documentationAssigning Drag&Relate Target iViews Locate this document in the navigation structure

This section describes how to assign navigation iViews as Drag&Relate targets to pages and iViews, using the Drag&Relate Target Editor.

Prerequisites

  • You have read administration permission for the potential Drag&Relate target object

  • You have read-write administration permission for the iView/page to which you want to assign a Drag&Relate target

  • You have access in the Portal Content Studio to both of the above objects

  • You are familiar with Permission Levels and Assigning Permissions

Procedure

  1. In the Portal Catalog, right-click the page or iView to which you want to assign Drag&Relate targets, and choose   Open   Drag&Relate Targets   to open the object in its Drag&Relate Target Editor. See Editing an Object.

If you are editing a page/iView that already has Drag&Relate targets assigned to it, they appear in the Target iView column. The object to which each target is assigned appears in the Assigned To column beside the target iView name.

  2. In the Portal Catalog, right-click the Drag&Relate-enabled object that you want to assign as a Drag&Relate target, and choose Add as Target from the context menu.

The target object is added to the Target iView list of the Drag&Relate Target Editor.

If you attempt to add an object that has not been drag-enabled, a message appears above the editor explaining why the object cannot be added.

  3. Repeat the procedure as necessary to add more Drag&Relate targets.

  4. Choose Save to apply your changes.

Result

Related content selected for the object in this editor appears at runtime in the Drag&Relate Targets area on the navigation panel.

Additional Information
  • A Drag&Relate target that is set to Hide is still associated to its iView/page, but does not appear in the Drag&Relate Targets iView of the navigation panel.

  • Removing a Drag&Relate target from a page/iView disassociates it from the particular page/iView as a Drag&Relate target; however, the object still appears in the user's content.
