Process documentationWorkflow: WSRP Application Sharing Locate this document in the navigation structure

This topic describes the basic activities that must be performed by administrators on a producer and consumer portal to expose and consume WSRP-based applications.

For more information about this content usage mode, see 'WSRP Application Sharing' Mode.

Note Note

Typically you use the content usage mode to share applications between a NetWeaver portal and a non-SAP portal. Technically, you can use it share content between SAP NetWeaver portals; however, the remote role assignment and remote delta linkmodes are preferred (see 'Remote Role Assignment' Mode and 'Remote Delta Link' Mode).

End of the note.

Prerequisites

  • Each portal has been installed and you have completed the initial configuration steps. Each portal must be fully operational.

  • The user bases of all portals in the network adhere to the requirements described in User Persistence.

Process

The following workflows describe the sequence of basic activities performed by administrators in the following scenarios:

  • An SAP NetWeaver producer portal exposing its WSRP-compliant iViews to:

    • a non-SAP consumer portal

    • an SAP NetWeaver consumer portal

  • An SAP NetWeaver consumer portal consuming:

    • WSRP portlets exposed by a non-SAP producer portal

    • iViews exposed by an SAP NetWeaver producer portal

For information about the activities performed by a non-SAP consumer or producer, refer to the documentation provided by the portal vendor.

Workflow for SAP NetWeaver Producers
  1. Configure your user repository.

  2. Configure your proxy settings.

  3. Set your root PCD folder for WSRP-based content requests (for non-SAP consumers only).

  4. Configure your registration password .

  5. If you are providing content to non-SAP consumer, then create a registration user and password for the consumer.

  6. Set permissions to local folders and WSRP-compliant iViews and configure necessary iView properties:

A non-SAP or SAP NetWeaver consumer can now integrate your exposed iViews as local WSRP portlets or SAP NetWeaver iViews, respectively.

Accessing Documentation for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Consumers

To use the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 consumer portal documentation hyperlinks below, you must have access to SAP Help Portal at sap.help.com. To view documentation for the SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 release, change saphelp_nw70 in the aforementioned URL to saphelp_nw70ehp1.

SAP Library documentation on SAP Help Portal always reflects the latest SAP NetWeaver support package stack (SPS) that has been released to customers. Use the links below only if you are certain that your software version matches the documentation version on the SAP Help Portal. To identify the documentation version, click SAP Library at the top of the SAP Library documentation page. For information about obtaining SAP Library documentation for earlier releases, go to the SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/maintenanceNW70.
