This topic describes how you close an object that is being edited in the Portal Content Studio.

Procedure

Closing a Parent Object and its Child Objects

To close a parent object displayed in the tab together with other child objects being edited either in the Object Editor area or in the Property Editor:

  1. Choose the tab of the parent object you want to close.

  2. In the Object Editor tools area, choose Close.

  3. If the parent object or its child objects have been modified and you have not saved the changes, you are asked if want to do so before the editor is closed. Confirm the message when prompted.

Note Note

You can also close a tab by clicking the X icon on the tab.

Closing a Child Object Only

To close a child object without closing its parent object, do the following:

  1. Make sure the object you want to close is the object in focus in the Portal Content Studio editing area.

  2. In the breadcrumb path, choose the parent object.

  3. If the child object has been modified and you have not saved the changes, you are asked if want to do so before the editor is closed. Confirm the message when prompted.
