Saving an Object
To keep any modifications you have made to an object in one of the Portal Content Studio editors, you must save the changes. This rule does not apply to the Role Editor, which automatically saves any changes you make to an object.
Whenever you switch between tabs in the Portal Content Studio, you are prompted to save changes that you have made to an object.
To save an object, in the object editor toolbar, click Save.
If you have modified an object and want to revert to the last saved settings before saving the recent changes, choose Refresh.
Note
The Save command does not only apply to the object currently in focus in the Portal Content Studio; it applies to all objects that are related to a particular tab in the editing area. This includes a parent object and any child object that is being edited under the parent object's tab.
Caution
To prevent multiple portal users from editing the same object simultaneously, an object becomes locked to other users while you are editing it. If you try to save an object after the default locking timeout interval has passed or a system administrator has taken the lock from you by force, you cannot save or continue editing the object. You receive a notification if this occurs. For more information about object locking and setting the locking timeout interval, see Object Locking.
Objects currently being edited are saved with any modifications you may have made to them.
Once an object has been saved, you cannot undo any changes you have made.
