You have to start the SAP Management Console (SAP MC) as a Java applet in your Web browser.
The SAP Host Agent is installed on the host where the application server of the SAP system or instance runs.
You have installed Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.4.2 or higher.
Your Web browser supports Java.
Your Web browser’s Java plug-in is installed and enabled to run scripting of Java applets.
In your Web browser, call the following URL:
http://<host>:<port>
where:
<host> is the host where the application server of the SAP system or instance is installed.
<port> is the sapstartsrv service port.
The port number is composed as follows: 5<instance_number>13.
Example
If the instance number is 60, the port is 56013.
If your browser displays a security warning message, choose the option that indicates that you trust the applet.
Note
If you want to connect over HTTPS, you have to use the sapstartsrv HTTPS port. The port number is 5<instance_number>14. Before connecting over HTTPS, you first have to set up SSL correctly for the monitored SAP instances.
The SAP MC starts automatically.
By default, the instances installed on the host to which you have connected are already added in the SAP Management Console. If you want to change the configuration to display systems and instances on other hosts, follow the instructions given in Registering Systems and Instances in the SAP MC.
