Task Planner can be defined as a time based planner used for triggering life cycle operations at specific points in time. : start SAP system CRM at 8:00 am daily.

You can schedule operations for both adaptive-enabled and traditionally installed systems using Task Planner.

There are two types of tasks that you can perform using the Task Planner.

Mass Action Task

The mass action task simultaneously executes single operation on multiple services, systems, and pools. The ACC application computes the dependencies between the services at the task execution start time. If the checks (For example: service dependency, resource availability) are not met, then the whole task execution fails.

Sequential Actions Task

The sequential actions task executes different operations on multiple services sequentially. While creating the task, ensure that the services are arranged in the order in which they should be executed. Since the task execution happens sequentially on the services, the operation execution fails only on the service which does not meet the checks (For example: service dependency, resource availability).

The key benefits of Task Plannerinclude:

  • Operations can be executed automatically

  • Tasks can be executed once or in an recurring mode

  • Existing tasks can be updated
