Procedure

  1. In the object list of the ABAP Workbench, select a Web Dynpro component.

  2. In the context menu of the component, choose Create/Change Configuration.

    A browser window is opened with the new configuration editor. The name of the component is already entered.

  3. Enter a new, unique configuration ID and choose Create.

    Caution Caution

    The name of the configuration, the configuration ID, must be globally unique.

  4. Enter a short description for your configuration and select the package in which you want to store the configuration.

    • For local objects ($TMP) use the relevant switch.

    • For transportable configurations, the transport request to be used is queried.

  5. Choose OK.

    You receive a message telling you that the configuration was created successfully. You then go directly to the configuration context where you can edit your new configuration. If you just want to display the configuration, click the relevant button.

  6. Choose Save.

Notes on Editing Configurations

If you selected an existing configuration for editing from the object list in SE80, the initial screen is skipped.
