Use

You want to create an account for a user to work with the ES Repository.

Prerequisites

You must have an account with the role Administrator on your AS Java.

Procedure

       1.      Choose User Management from your AS Java start page at http://<host>:<port>.

       2.      Choose Create User and provide the general information for the user you want to create.

       3.      Choose Assigned Groups and search for available groups beginning with SAP_ESR_.

For greater flexibility, we do not recommend that you directly assign roles.

       4.      Select the appropriate group and choose Add to add it to the assigned groups.

Most of the time you will probably assign the SAP_ESR_DEVELOPER group. This user group is allowed to create content in the ES Repository.

If you want to grant more privileges to the user (for example, for creating and changing software component versions), assign the group SAP_ESR_CONTENT_ORGANIZER or SAP_ESR_ADMINISTRATOR.

       5.      If you use data-dependent security permissions to protect your ESR content, assign the user a role starting with XiRep_.

       6.      Save your settings.

The new user must change the initial password by calling the ESR administration at http://<host>:<port>/rep Administration. Otherwise the user will not be able to log on to the ES Builder when starting the ES Repository for the first time.
