The following section contains administration information for the Internet Communication Manager (ICM), which is responsible for accepting and forwarding requests in an AS Java Instance.

Internet Communication Manager (ICM)

The ICM administration is performed in the following ways:
· Profile parameters in the instance profiles: The parameters are set to suitable defaults, therefore, changes should not be necessary. For reference, the parameters are listed in the following section: Profile Parameters for the ICM and SAP Web Dispatcher.
The following ICM parameter for AS Java is not contained in the list: icm/HTTP/ASJava/disable_url_session_tracking
· Administration Using the Web browser: You can perform administration and monitoring with the Web-based administration interface that is included in the Management Console. In addition, administration from the command line is possible.

· URL rewriting and other HTTP request modifications. You can configure URL rewriting and other generic operations on HTTP requests in the ICM.

Note that the following functions mentioned refer to an AS ABAP and are not available in an AS Java only installation (Composition Environment):

The SAP Web Dispatcher is not included in a CE installation, but available on the SAP Service Marketplace.
