Creating a Persistent Object Set

1. Open the SLAD-Cockpit (transaction SLAD).

Select the Object Sets tab page and choose
with the
quick info text Create object set.
A dialog box appears.

Enter the name of
the new object set and choose
with the quick info text Enter.
You can add (optionally) a description of the new object set and specify an application component to which the new object set is attached.
If you specify an application component, your object set is added to the application component hierarchy which you can see on the left-hand side of the SLAD initial screen.

The Description and Application Component fields only make sense for transportable objects.
The maintenance screen of the object set appears.
4. Specify the selection sets.
To specify a selection set, proceed as follows:
a. Enter a name of the selection set.

This name must be unique for the current object set.
b. Specify the Selection Criterion.
c. Specify the type of selection.
You can choose between a selection screen and an application component.
If you
choose the Application Component selection type,
you have to select the appropriate component from the hierarchy tree that
appears after choosing the
button. If you double click on an application
component, all of the packages assigned to it appear. Select the packages that
you are interested in and choose Transfer.

You can transfer all the packages of an application component to your object set. Nevertheless, all packages assigned to the relevant application component after you have already defined your object set are not automatically included in the object set.

To add the
selection criteria, choose the
button from the Display/Change Selection column.
5. In the Linking of Selection Sets field, you can add a logical connection between the selection sets that were created.

To check if your
object is semantically correct, choose
with the quick info text Check Object Set.
The system displays all errors in the object set or in the expression in an application log.
7.
Choose
with the
quick info text Save and assign the object set to
a package.
