You can display and manage all user sessions in the VMC system administration.
You can see which sessions are currently active, inactive or their timeout has expired. You can also display detailed information about each session and you can delete sessions.
On the initial screen of the VMC system administration (SM53) in the structure on the left side under Navigation choose Sessions.
You can see the existing user sessions with their state, their type, the user name, session ID and memory consumption. To view detailed information, select a session and choose Details.
The individual fields in the table are as follows:
Column |
Meaning and Value Range |
Status |
Status of the session. Following values are possible: Active (light bulb glowing): The session is currently bound to a request (user context) (see Resource Management in the VM Container). Not Active (light bulb is grey): The session is not currently bound to a resource. Session Timeout Reached (one hour). The HTTP session has reached a timeout. |
Type |
There are two session types – RFC and HTTP. Timeouts can only occur with HTTP sessions, not with RFC sessions. |
User Name |

Session ID |

○
To delete a session, select the session and choose Delete Selected Sessions.
You should only delete sessions if a timeout has occurred (HTTP) and the sessions have not been cleaned up for a long time (hours), or if there are too many sessions and they have not been used for hours. These situations are however more likely to be the exception.
