SAS: ABAP Debugger Tracing and
Scripting
You use this standalone transaction to analyze in detail trace files produced with the Debugger Scripting tool of the New ABAP Debugger.
The SAS: ABAP Debugger Tracing and Scripting is an auxiliary tool to the Debugger Scripting tool of the New ABAP Debugger.
The tool contains the following tabs pages:
The tab contains two screen areas: Own Trace Files and Trace Files of Other Users.
Each screen area contains a list of trace files and information about them.
The files are sorted according to time stamp, starting with the newest.
If you double-click a file from the lists, you view it in Trace Display tab.
On this tab, you can view information about the trace file.
The Trace Selection screen area contains the following pushbuttons:
· Statement
· Hierarchy
· Custom.
Depending on which type of trace file you are analyzing, the respective pushbutton is activated.
If the trace file is a combined trace, more than one pushbutton is active.
· When you choose Statements, the system opens the Trace: Statements tool.
The traced statements appear in a list. By double-clicking in the Line column, you can navigate to the source code.
· When you choose Hierarchy, the system opens the Trace: Hierarchy tool.
The traced call hierarchy appears in a tree. You can expand and collapse the entire or parts of the tree.
If you are
analyzing a combined trace, the system indicates the points where a statement
or custom trace was written by
with the quick info text Source in column Source Trace, or by
with the
quick info text Custom in column Custom Trace.
· When you choose Statements, the system opens the Trace: Custom tool.
When you choose
Overview and
Action, the following tabs appear:
● Overview
The tab gives information about the file, the file statistics, and the trigger types.
● Script Action
The tab contains an indexed list of the trigger points during the trace.
The tab contains all the functionality of the Script tab of the Debugger Scripting tool, except for the Save and Start Script functions.
