Scheduling Tasks
You can configure the regular execution of background tasks available in Guided Procedures (GP) by assigning schedules to these tasks.
You have the appropriate rights to work with the GP Administration workset.

1. In the portal, navigate to Guided Procedures → Administration → General.
2. Choose Schedule Tasks.
3. From the Tasks list on the screen, select a task.

In the list, you can see relevant information for each task:
§ Name
§ Description
§ Initiator
§ Component Type
§ Component Name
§ Class Name
4. To assign a schedule to the selected task, choose Create under Assigned Schedule.
5. On the edit screen, configure the following schedule attributes:

Start Date |
The date and hour on which the schedule is to be initiated or executed for the first time. |
Month |
Specifies the month of execution (January to December). Valid for the Recurrent Yearly option only. |
Day |
Specifies the day of execution (1st to 31st). Valid for the Recurrent Yearly and Recurrent Monthly options. |
Weekday |
Monday to Sunday. Valid for the Recurrent Weekly option only. |
Time (hh:mm) |
Specifies the time of execution. Valid for all recurrent schedules. |
Priority |
Can be one of the following: · High · Middle · Low |
Error Mode |
Defines the action the system performs in case of error: · Dismiss · Try Again · Try Until Successful |
6. Once you have made the settings, choose Save to confirm.
7. Once a schedule is created and configured, you can see its details in the Assigned Schedule list.
8. To define other schedules for the task, repeat steps 4 through 6.
9. To edit an existing schedule, select it from the list and choose Edit.
10. To delete a schedule, select it from the list and choose Delete.
After you have created and assigned schedules to GP background tasks, you can run these tasks with the help of the appropriate tools.
You can schedule the regular execution of the background Archiving and Deleting job, which checks on a regular basis for process instances that qualify for archiving and deleting.
