Workflow: WSRP Application SharingThis topic describes the basic activities that must be performed by administrators on a producer and consumer portal to expose and consume WSRP-based applications.
For more
information about this content usage mode, see
'WSRP Application
Sharing' Mode.

Typically you
use the content usage mode to share applications between a NetWeaver portal
and a non-SAP portal. Technically, you can use it share content
between NetWeaver portals; however, the remote role
assignment and remote delta link modes are
preferred (see
'Remote Role
Assignment' Mode and
'Remote Delta Link'
Mode).
See Prerequisites.
The following workflows describe the sequence of basic activities performed by administrators in the following scenarios:
● A NetWeaver producer portal exposing its WSRP-compliant iViews to a:
○ non-SAP consumer portal
○ NetWeaver consumer portal
● A NetWeaver consumer portal consuming:
○ WSRP portlets exposed by a non-SAP producer portal
○ iViews exposed by a NetWeaver producer portal
If you connecting your SAP NetWeaver 7.1 portal with either a SAP NetWeaver 7.0 consumer or producer portal, do not use the respective documentation links provided below. Instead, refer to the corresponding topics in the SAPNetWeaver 7.0 documentation set. You can find the complete documentation set for implementing a federated portal network in a SAP NetWeaver 7.0 environment at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/5b/9f2d4293825333e10000000a155106/frameset.htm. To view documentation for the SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 release, change saphelp_nw70 in the aforementioned URL to saphelp_nw70ehp1.
For information about the activities performed by a non-SAP consumer or producer, refer to the documentation provided by the portal vendor.

1.
Configure your user
repository.
2.
Configure your proxy
settings.
3.
Set your root PCD
folder for WSRP-based content requests (for non-SAP consumers only).
4. Depending if the consumer is NetWeaver or non-SAP do one of the following:
a.
Create a registration
user and password for the consumer (for non-SAP consumers
only).
A non-SAP consumer can now register with your portal; however you may want to first assign access permissions to your content before providing the consumer with the relevant logon information.
b.
Configure your
registration password (for NetWeaver consumers only).
A NetWeaver consumer can now register with your portal.
5. Set permissions to local folders and WSRP-compliant iViews and configure necessary iView properties:
○
Set permissions and
configure properties for non-SAP consumers
○
Set permissions and
configure properties for NetWeaver consumers
A non-SAP or NetWeaver consumer can now integrate your exposed iViews as local WSRP portlets or NetWeaver iViews, respectively.
