Procedure documentation Creating and Executing Persistent Inspections

Procedure  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

       1.      Enter a name for the inspection.

       2.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Local if you want the inspection to be visible only to the current user, or choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Global if you want the inspection to be visible to all users.

Note

To be able to create an inspection globally, you must have the appropriate authorization.

       3.      Choose Create.

The system automatically assigns a version number and proposes a date when the inspection should be deleted.

The Inspection screen appears.

       4.      In Object Selection screen area, choose the objects to be checked.

You can select a predefined object set, a transport request, or a single object.

       5.      In the Check Variant screen area, enter a check variant and decide whether it is locally or globally visible.

       6.      If you want to execute the inspection immediately, save your entries.

       7.      To execute the inspection immediately on the local server, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Execute.

The system performs the inspection.

       8.      To execute the inspection in parallel on several application servers, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Execute….

The Execution Options dialog box appears in which you can select the Server Group or Local Server radio button:

                            a.      If you choose to execute the inspection on a server group, enter the name of the group and select the Immediately or In Background radio button to define when the inspection will be executed.

                            b.      If you choose to execute the inspection on a local server, select In Single Process or Parallel to define how the inspection will be executed.

                            c.      Choose Enter.

The system performs the inspection.

Result

Once the inspection is performed, you can view results or statistics. You can also choose to create a new version of the inspection, to sort and filter the results, or to change the inspection details.

      To view detailed results of the inspection that was performed, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Result.

The system displays a tree.

       To see the individual results, choose the appropriate node of the tree.

Each node displays the test name, error, warning, and information messages.

       To see details of the individual results, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Documentation.

       To navigate to the checked object, double-click on the message.

       You can sort and filter the displayed results.

       You can execute the inspection again with incremented version number by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Repeat.

       To see a list of all messages, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Result list.

      To view detailed statistics of the inspection that was performed, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Statistics

The Statistics for Inspection Execution screen appears where you can view general statistics as well as server statistics, object statistics, and error statistics.
