Background documentation Java Components  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

The components Enterprise Services Repository and Integration Directory perform the same self-test.

Is the Exchange Profile Available?

The addressed component checks whether it can access the exchange profile and read its contents. Access to the exchange profile is a basic prerequisite for communication with other components of an integration landscape.

Is a User Defined for the Component?

This test checks whether the addressed component can read the assigned technical user and logon language from the exchange profile. The component needs this logon data to access other components, in particular to read other configuration data from the System Landscape Directory.

This test does not check whether the assigned technical user has all the required authorizations.

Are the Connection Parameters Defined for the Component?

This test checks whether the exchange profile describes the parameters that are required for a connection to the addressed component. These parameters are:

The name of the host on which the component is running

The HTTP port at which the component can be reached using HTTP protocol

The HTTPS port, if the HTTP connection is to be established using SSL (optional parameter)

The path (context root) under which HTTP services of the component can be reached

The RMI port at which the component can be reached using RMI protocol. This parameter is only relevant for the Enterprise Services Repository and the Integration Directory.
