...

       1.      To maintain the header data for the process route, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Process Route and This graphic is explained in the accompanying text. The dialog box Header Data for Process Route is displayed. For an explanation of the individual fields, use the field help. To confirm your entry, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

       2.      Enter the process route items. The following options are available:

¡        This graphic is explained in the accompanying textInsert Sequentially: The process route item is inserted sequentially after the process route item on which your cursor is currently positioned. At runtime, the work item is sent when the processor of the previous process route item has finished processing their work item.

¡        This graphic is explained in the accompanying textInsert in Parallel: The process route item is inserted parallel to the process route item on which your cursor is currently positioned. At runtime, the employees who have been assigned in parallel all receive a work item at the same time when the processor of the previous process route item has completed their work item.

       3.      When you choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Insert Sequentially or This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Insert in Parallel, the dialog box Add Process Route Itemis displayed. In the top screen area, the details are displayed for the previous process route item, that is, the one on which your cursor is currently positioned. In the lower screen area, you can determine the attributes of the new process route item. For an explanation of the individual fields, use the field help. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text. The new process route item is displayed in the overview tree.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying textLoad Process Route Model: This is not relevant for Case Management.

       4.      When you have inserted all the process route items, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to check your process route.

       5.      To start the process route, you have to change the value of the Status attribute in the header data area. In Customizing, you have determined which status value must be set to start the process route (IMG activity Create Status Profile).

Example: In the demo case type, the process route is started when the status value In Processing is set. The process route is ended when the status value Completed is set.

       6.      To save the process route, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text in the application toolbar above the header data.

The whole case is saved.

Result

The processor of the first process route item receives a work item in their workflow inbox, which contains the processing of the case. When he or she executes the work item, the case is displayed. After the process route item has been processed, the next processor in the route receives a work item.
