Use

The DB Admin Cockpit also uses the Configuration Wizard for its initial configuration. The configuration is performed as an optional part of the task Configure NWA (see Configuring NWA for Landscape-wide Monitoring and Administration).

Prerequisites

ADA DB:

If the R/3 system runs with a database system different than MaxDB, then you must install the MaxDB client software on that R/3 system. Installation instructions: For more details refer to the Note 649814.

DB2

...

       1.      If the System is not a DB2 system, you have to install the database

                   1.client first. For more details refer to the Note 160484.

       2.      The data to be entered in the panel depend on the SAP installation and

                   2.have to be looked up there. As Collection ID you have to enter the Collection you

                   2.specified during the db2radm call when setting up the connection in step 1 (-C

                   2.parameter).

DB4

An application server running on i5/OS, Windows, or Linux on Power must be made

available.

DB6

The DBSL library dbdb6slib.dll for the kernel, must be copied into the EXE directory

of the SAP system.

Microsoft SQL Server

The dbmssslib.dll file, part of the windows operating system, must be copied into

the EXE directory of the SAP system.

Oracle

Refer to the following SAP-Notes: 180430, 539922, and 1028624.

Procedure

...

       1.      You have started the Configuration Wizard in the NWA of the CEN, and have started one of the following administration tasks:

¡        Configure NWA, in this task, you have selected the DB Admin Cockpit indicator, and you are at the step in which you enter data to configure the DB Admin Cockpit.

¡        Add system to CENTRAL for DBACockpit monitoring.

Note

The configuration of the DBA Cockpit is part of two different configuration tasks. In most cases, you only need to configure the DBA Cockpit once; therefore, it is an optional step in the Configure NWA task. A separate configuration task is also available to allow you to administer additional databases.

       2.      First choose the database type of the monitored system. Depending on this choice, different user and contact data is displayed for the database, which you also fill out.

Choose Next.

       3.      If you are in the Configure NWA task, continue to perform this task in accordance with the description in Configuring NWA for Landscape-wide Monitoring and Administration

Checking the Entries (Optional)

       1.      Start the transaction DBACOCKPIT in the ABAP stack of the CEN, and check whether the system for the database that you have just registered is displayed in the list.
