Use

You can activate recording of HTTP requests with the ICF recorder both user-specifically and service-specifically in order to identify and fix errors.

Procedure

To activate recording with the ICF Recorder, perform the following steps:

       1.      Call transaction SICF.

       2.      On the selection screen, select the tree structure or substructure that you want to display, and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Execute.

       3.      Select the required service in the service hierarchy.

       4.      Choose Edit Recorder Activate Recording.

       5.      Enter the following information:

¡        URL path: Enter the service path that you want the ICF Recorder to record (if you selected the path before, the system proposes the path for you).

¡        Specify a Record Time and Lifetime (lifetime of the monitoring data in the database).

¡        You can set the option User-Dependent to activate the ICF recorder for a specific user or client (that is, all users in a client). If you select All Users, all activates of all users of the selected service are recorded.

If possible, choose the option User-dependent. Otherwise, superfluous data can strain system performance.

Note also that you need an authorization to view other users’ data (see Displaying and Processing Entries).
