You can quickly insert existing objects into your model as a representative of the source object (occurrence copy) or as the basis for a new object (definition copy).
1. In the navigation tree, open the folder containing the object.
2. Click on the object name and hold the mouse button down.
3. Drag the object to the position in the model where it is to be placed. The pop-up menu opens.
4. Click on Create occurrence copy here.
5. In the navigation tree, open the folder containing the object.
6. Right-click on the object name and hold the mouse button down.
7. Drag the object to the position in the model where it is to be placed. The pop-up menu opens.
8. Click on Create definition copy here.
You created an occurrence copy or a definition copy of the object.
If you created an occurrence copy, a new graphical representation of the source object exists. If you change the attributes of this occurrence (e.g., the name), the name of all occurrences of the source object is changed in all models.
If you created a definition copy, a new object exists whose attributes you can change as required without changing the source object.
