Use

You use performance monitoring in SAP NetWeaver Administrator for PI to display statistical data on the performance of message processing.

You can perform various different evaluations on the Integration Server for this purpose:

You can search for aggregated data in standard mode and advanced mode.

Note

The search only takes those messages into account that were processed successfully within the specified time interval.

You can arrange the aggregated data found in hierarchical form in the results table.

In the results table, you can display the individual data for each message for the aggregated data found.

Note

You can also use the Runtime Workbench to monitor the message-processing performance.

Prerequisites

You have configured the data from the Integration Server that is necessary for performance monitoring.

You have started the SAP NetWeaver Administrator for PI and have chosen Performance Monitoring.

Procedure

...

       1.      In the Integration Server, select the central Integration Engine

       2.      Select the required selection criteria.

       3.      To navigate to advanced mode, choose Advanced in the standard mode.

       4.      If required, enter details about the sender and receiver.

You can reset selected or entered values.

       5.      Start the search.

Result

A results table containing the aggregated data found is displayed.

The aggregated data gives you the following results:

Column

Meaning

End Time/Start Time

Start and end of the interval in question.

Number

Number of messages processed in this interval

Size

Average size of processed messages.

Processing Time

Average processing time in seconds.

Rate

Number of messages processed each hour.

<Drilldown Category>

Sender/receiver attribute(s) for data drilldown (if selected).

To drill down to particular sender/receiver attributes in the displayed aggregated data, select the required options in the Sender/Receiver and Attributes fields and choose Display.

In the results table, the system drills down the messages by the specified attributes (for example, by party), and differentiates the displayed data correspondingly.

To display data for a specific message, select the line and choose Display Individual Data.

The results table displays the data for the message. To navigate to message monitoring, click the message ID.

The individual data gives you the following results:

Column

Meaning

Message ID

ID of processed message

Size

Size of processed message

First and last time stamp (absolute)

First and last time stamp of message processing in absolute units

Processing Time

Difference between last and first time stamp in seconds

Processing Mode

Message processing mode: synchronous or asynchronous

<Drilldown Category>

Sender/receiver attributes

Note

If a message is processed on several systems and the clocks of these systems are not synchronized exactly, this can result in negative processing times.

To display the data for a specific point in processing, select one line and choose Display Intermediate Results.

Depending on the component, the timing of particular processing steps is recorded in a time stamp that gives an intermediate processing result at a particular time in processing.

You can display both aggregated detailed data and individual detailed data. Time stamps that convey a particular point in processing are displayed instead of the drilldown category. The values of the time stamps are displayed in seconds relative to the first time stamp displayed.

Note

To display aggregated detailed data, you must use attributes to identify the sender and receiver uniquely.
