communication component (BC-XI)

Exchange Infrastructure (BC-XI)

Represents a entity that can be used to address a sender or receiver of messages. A communication component is usually a technical or business entity that represents a part of the functional scope provided by a communication party.

In this case, you define the communication component as a part of a communication party. However, you can also define a communication component independently of a communication party. This is advisable when you want to configure the communication within a business unit in which specific communication parties are not required. If you want to address integration processes and business systems as senders and receivers of messages, you must define them as communication components in the Integration Directory.
