This interface pattern is used to perform actions that operate on business object (BO) data. There are typically only a few parameters contained in the the request so that the action can be performed.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Further comments:

  • The interface pattern shows those actions that are used most frequently:

    • Release <BO>

    • Deactivate <BO> (For example, for an action on master data objects that are just to be deactivated, rather than deleted.)

  • If you need checking actions, name them according to the following schema: Check <BO> <action in substantiated form>. The graphic above shows an example for the Deactivate action.
