Procedure documentationCreating a Management Connection to the Central System Locate this document in the navigation structure

In each system that you want to be configured by a central system, you need to create a management connection to the central system. The management connection is established from the system you want to manage, but the process builds a bi-directional connection. Using the connection from the managed system to the central system, for example, design time information is passed to the central system. The connection from the central system to the managed systems is needed for the tasks that are executed in these systems from the central system. For example, configuration tasks can be carried out in the central system and distributed to the managed systems. Each system can only have one management connection to one central system.

Procedure

  1. In SOA Manager (transaction code SOAMANAGER) on the Management Connection tab, choose Management Connections.

  2. On the Maintain New Connection tab, specify the connection details and enter credentials for the local and the central system.

Ensure that the user you enter for the local system has sufficient authorizations for Web service configuration as these credentials are used for calls between the central and the local systems.

Result

With the data provided, a logical port is created and used to send data to the central system. In the central system, a logical port for calls to your local system is created. The management connection status is set to requested. You receive a confirmation of the management connection from the central system. As soon as you receive it, the management connection becomes active and your system is represented as a domain system within the central system.

On the Maintain New Connection tab, you can check the management connection at any time.
