Procedure documentationCreating and Assigning Logon Data in a Central System Locate this document in the navigation structure

During the automated configuration of consumers, logon data is used to provide the required credentials and the preferred authentication method to the consumer system. The credentials must be valid for the provider system and the addressed application. The valid authentication methods are specified by the provider configuration. Therefore, logon data can be assigned to a business application on a provider system. This assignment can also be restricted by a Web service interface and/or a service group. This allows you to use different authentication methods and credentials for different interfaces in the same provider system. If no logon data is specified for a provider system, Single Sign-on is used as the default (if the provider configuration supports this authentication method).

Procedure

  1. In central SOA Manager (transaction code SOAMANAGER) on the Service Administration tab, choose Logon Data Management.

On the Maintenance tab, all logon data is displayed in a list.

  2. Choose Create and specify a name, a description, and an authentication method.

If you have chosen User/Password or X.509 as the authentication method, you have to enter credentials.

The type of the logon data is Central.

  3. On the Assignments tab, assign the logon data to the provider system for which the logon data is valid.

  4. To distribute the domain settings to your domain systems, start the change processor.

When the logon data is transported to a managed system, its type is Central to mark that it has been created in the central system. Central logon data can be used for central business scenario configuration.

For more information, see Distributing Changes from the Central System to Domain Systems.

Result

The logon data is transferred to all domain systems that have to configure logical ports using authentication methods that require credentials.
