TREX Monitor in KM

You use this tool if you are using the component Knowledge Management (KM) in SAP Enterprise Portal and want to connect TREX to it.

You can use this tool to administrate queues, display important index parameters, empty search and classification caches, and check the availability of the TREX servers.

TREX Admin Tool in the SAP System

You use this tool if TREX is connected to an SAP system.

You can use this tool to administrate queues, check the availability of the TREX servers, and display technical information on the TREX system.

TREX Admin Tool (Stand-Alone)

The TREX admin tool (stand-alone) is used to configure and monitor TREX. This tool is a stand-alone program that you can use to administrate TREX independently of the application to which it is connected.

You can use this tool to configure a distributed TREX system and to administrate and monitor delta indexes. This tool also provides detailed technical information on indexes, queues, and the TREX servers. You can also display the TREX trace and log files and monitor the system status and operating system resources.

TREX Alert Server

You use the TREX alert server to monitor system behavior and the configuration of TREX. The TREX alert server regularly checks central TREX functions and can notify you by e-mail of the system status in the event of an error or incorrect configuration.

The TREX alert server is integrated into both the TREX admin tool (stand-alone) and in the TREX admin tool in the SAP system as a function.

Monitoring TREX with CCMS

You use CCMS (Computer Center Management System) to monitor availability, system status, configuration, operating system, and load for a TREX landscape.

Note

For more information about CCMS monitoring, see Monitoring in the CCMS.

Configuration of the TREX Services in the SAP J2EE Engine

You use the Visual Administrator of the J2EE Engine to configure and monitor the TREX caches and the parameters for communication between the TREX Java client and the TREX servers (especially the TREX name server).
