This graphic is explained in the accompanying text What are templates for?  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Using the templates included or those you create yourself will enable you to easily customize your models according to your requirements. You can specify that certain or all objects and/or connections in a model will be shown in the style you want simply by assigning templates. You can also use a template to specify that attributes are to be placed at certain positions on objects and connections.

Moreover, you can assign multiple templates to models. This means that you can assign a template to a model to change the size of objects, for example, and another that places the desired attributes. Based on this possibility, it can be very useful to create templates for specific model types, which can also be applied to other model types, for example.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

You can create a template for EPCs to modify events, functions and rules graphically, and another to graphically adapt the objects of the organizational chart. If you now apply both of these templates one after the other to an EPC in which organizational units are modeled as well as events, functions and rules, all the objects will be displayed in accordance with the graphical modifications.

Additive template assignment is possible for existing objects only. If you create new objects, only the template you assigned last will be applied to them.

You can also apply templates to individual items of a model and specify that only existing model items or only future model items are to be changed and that all changes that are made with templates can be reversed.
