Procedure documentation Configuring the DB Admin Cockpit  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The DB Admin Cockpit also uses the Configuration Wizard for its initial configuration. The configuration is performed as an optional part of the task Configure NWA for Double-Stack System (see Configuring the Central NWA).

Prerequisites

This procedure is part of the process Wizard-Based Configuration of the NWA. Note the prerequisites specified there.

Note also that the client software for the relevant database must be installed on CEN, if the database type of the monitored system is different from that of the central system.

Procedure

...

       1.      You have started the Configuration Wizard in the NWA of the CEN, and have started one of the following administration tasks:

Configure NWA for Double Stack System (see Configuring Central Monitoring in the NWA with the Configuration Wizard [page 22]); in this task, you have selected the DB Admin Cockpit indicator, and you are at the step in which you enter data to configure the DB Admin Cockpit.

NWA for Double Stack System: Add system to CENTRAL for DBACockpit monitoring.

Note

The configuration of the DBA Cockpit is part of two different configuration tasks. In most cases, you only need to configure the DBA Cockpit once; therefore, it is an optional step in the Configure NWA for Double Stack System task. A separate configuration task is also available to allow you to administer additional databases.

       2.      First choose the database type of the monitored system. Depending on this choice, different user and contact data is displayed for the database, which you also fill out.

Choose Next.

       3.      If you are in the Configure NWA for Double Stack Systemtask, continue to perform this task in accordance with the description in Configuring the Central NWA.

Checking the Entries (Optional)

       4.      Start the transaction DBACOCKPIT in the ABAP stack of the CEN, and check whether the system for the database that you have just registered is displayed in the list.
