Wizard-Based Basic Configuration
Use
After full installation, and before manual configuration, you can run the configuration wizard to initially set up your non-central Adapter Engine. The configuration wizard saves you time and manual steps.
Only run the configuration wizard directly after installation. If you have modified your Adapter Engine already, or if you have upgraded from an older release, do not use the configuration wizard. Instead, use the manual steps as required.
Procedure
To carry out the wizard-based initial setup for the non-central Adapter Engine, perform the following steps:
1.
Start the
wizard-based configuration tool as described in
Configuration
Wizard.
2. Choose All Configuration Tasks.
3. In the task list, select PI Adapter Engine initial setup.
4. Choose Start.
To launch
online help for a field, click the information icon (
) where available.
5. Enter the administrator password(s) for your AS Java if required.
6. Specify and confirm a Master Password.
The master password is used for all users to be created during AS Java configuration.

7. Choose Next.
8. Make sure that both AS Java and PI_AE are selected and choose Next.
9. Specify the host and port number of your central SLD system.
10. Specify the user and password of your SLD data supplier and SLD client.
11. Choose Next.
12. Specify the data for the connection to your central exchange profile.
The steps are executed one after the other. You can check the process status for each step. If an error occurs, you have the following options:
○ You can retry the current step.
○ You can skip the current step.
You have to manually carry out skipped steps.
○ You can cancel and resume the setup process.
To resume the process, you have to refresh your browser window.
Once all steps have been executed, you can view a log for each step.
You have to restart your system in order for the settings to take effect.
The wizard-based initial setup for the Adapter Engine performs the following post-installation steps:
● Configuring the SLD data supplier
● Maintaining the exchange profile
● Triggering self-registration of the non-central Adapter Engine
If you do not want to use this initial setup to perform the basic configuration steps required for the Adapter Engine, you have to carry out these steps manually as outlined in the step descriptions accessed by the hyperlinks above.
In addition, you have to manually configure the gateway service of the Integration Server as follows:

1. On the Adapter Engine host, open the file services by using a text editor.
You can find the file on:
○ Windows at <drive>\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\
¡ UNIX at /etc/
2. Enter the gateway service of the Integration Server in the file services as follows:
sapgw<xx> <port>/tcp #SAP System Gateway Port
where <xx> is the instance number and <port> is the gateway port of the SAP Application Server on which the Integration Server is running.
You can copy and paste the correct entry from the services file on the Integration Server host.
