To prepare your database before you start operating it with the SAP system, we recommend that you proceed as follows:

       1.      Plan your backup and restore strategy.

       2.      In the DBA Cockpit, set up the DBA Planning Calendar:

                            a.      Depending on your backup strategy, schedule the required backup jobs in the DBA Planning Calendar.

                            b.      Schedule other regular database administration jobs, such as, archiving log files.

       3.      Configure automatic administration settings using the DBA Cockpit.

       4.      Test your backup and restore strategy.

       5.      If required, adjust database parameters using the DBA Cockpit.
