Configuring IBM DB2 for i5/OS 

 

To configure your database before you start operating it with the SAP system, you need to perform the following steps:

       1.      Define your backup and restore strategy.

       2.      Test your backup and restore strategy.

If you want to use special features of DB2 for i5/OS, proceed as follows:

■       Configure your database to use independent ASPs. For more information, see SAP Note 568820.

■       Set up journaling for special system landscapes. For more information, see SAP Note 744055 and SAP Note 828354.

■       Reorganize tables with many deleted rows. For more information, see SAP Note 84081.
