1. Plan your database configuration.

2. Plan your backup and restore strategy.

3. Check your DB2 setup.

4. Check the authorization profiles for the users in your system.

5. Set up the PTF (Program Temporary Fixes) check for your z/OS system.

6. Plan your high availability system set-up.

7. Set up automated database administration in your DBA Planning Calendar or DBA Cockpit:
