Procedure documentation Setting Up GRMG Monitoring of the System Landscape Directory  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Use the GRMG to monitor the availability of the System Landscape Directory (SLD). To do this, you must edit an appropriate template for a GRMG Customizing file and upload it to the central monitoring system.

...

       1.      You first require the template for the GRMG Customizing file. You can find this on the SAP Service Marketplace, under the Quick Link Monitoring (http://service.sap.com/monitoring).

       2.      In the navigation bar, choose Download Area GRMG Customizing Files System Landscape Directory SLD, and download the file SLD GRMG Monitoring Template to a location to which you have read access from your front end.

       3.      Open the above file, Template_sld_grmg_cust.xml, with a suitable editor, and make the following changes:

Change the value of the tag <scenstarturl> by replacing [host] and [port] with the relevant connection data for the SLD that you want to monitor.

Change the value of the <scendesc> by replacing [host] with the name of the host on which the SLD to be monitored is running.

Save your changes.

       4.      In the central monitoring system (CEN), call transaction GRMG.

       5.      Choose the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Upload button, and then select the above file, Template_sld_grmg_cust.xml.

       6.      Select the scenario that you have just created, J2EE_SLD, and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Start. As of this point, the scenario is periodically executed.

Checking the Configuration (Optional)

       7.      After you have started the scenario, you can find out from the Scenario Execution Status, whether the scenario was correctly executed. After the scenario has been executed, there should be a green check mark (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text) here.

       8.      To view the availability data for the monitored components, call transaction RZ20 in CEN, and start the Heartbeat monitor in the SAP J2EE Monitor Templates monitor set. Expand the subtree J2EE Engine SLD on <host name>: Heartbeat.

Result

You have set up and started the availability monitoring of the specified SLD.
