Define Business System as Communication
Component
Use
You can define a business system as a communication component in the Integration Directory.
Procedure
Proceed as follows:

1. Decide how you want to address the business system.
You have the following options:
○ Address as a communication component independently of a party
You usually use this type of addressing for configuring cross-company business processes (application-to-application processes).
○ Address as communication component of a party
Parties (with assigned communication components) are typically used whenconfiguring cross-company business processes (business-to-business processes).

2. Call the Wizard for creating the business system component.
Depending on the type of address you have chosen, proceed as follows.

In the navigation area of the Integration Directory in the Communication Component subtree, position the cursor on Business System and in the context menu, choose Assign Business System. |
As a communication component of a party |
Open the communication party. Under
Communication Components, in the toolbar choose New ( |

Unlike a business component, you cannot define a business system communication component by using the create dialog for new objects.
The system calls the Wizard.
3. Choose Continue.
If you want to assign the communication component to a communication party, the Party field will contain the default value.
4. Choose Continue.
All business systems that have not yet been defined as communication components in the Integration Directory are displayed.
5. Select a business system.
6. Choose Finish.
The business system is created as a communication component in the Integration Directory.
The name of a business system component comes from the business system in the System Landscape Directory that is it assigned to; the name cannot be changed in the Integration Directory.
