ALE/EDI

Application Link Enabling (ALE) is a technology for creating and operating distributed applications to ensure a distributed and integrated SAP installation. It includes a controlled exchange of messages with consistent data retention on network SAP application systems.

This monitor corresponds to the ALE subtree of the Communications monitor; however, the ALE/EDI monitor includes all monitored systems. The ALE/EDI (local) monitor, on the other hand, only includes the local system.

Internet Graphics Server

The Internet Graphics Server (IGS) aids the display of graphics in the SAP GUI for HTML and in MiniApps.

Knowledge Provider

The Knowledge Provider (KPro) provides application-neutral and media-independent technologies for document management as an infrastructure. The KPro is part of the SAP Web Application Server and can be used by any SAP application.

LDAP Connectors

The LDAP Connector receives access requests from SAP systems to a directory server (see Newly Added Monitoring Functions in the Alert Monitor).

This monitor corresponds to the LDAP Directory Services subtree of the Communications monitor.

Log File Monitoring

You can use this monitor to monitor log files for text elements of your choice.

Logon Load Balancing

You can use this monitor to monitor dynamic load distribution. If you are using logon groups, it allows the distribution of users in accordance with the current Logon Load Quality, a numerical value for the quality of the dialog system.

MaxDB Monitoring

For the MaxDB database system, you can monitor the OLTP and liveCache database instance types using the monitoring architecture:

●      OLTP; more information about monitoring: Database Alert Monitor

You can view monitoring data for the OLTP database instance that is the basis for the local SAP NetWeaver system in the Database Monitor. This monitor display only monitoring data for all other database instances. The monitor is therefore only provided with values for MaxDB.

You can activate and deactivate monitoring of these database instances in transaction DB59 (see MaxDB/liveCache System Overview).

TREX

You can use this monitor to monitor the functions and status of TREX. For more information, see Monitoring TREX with the SAP Solution Manager.

Table Content Monitoring

You can use this monitor to search any database tables for any entries. When doing so, you can use any comparison operations for a table column, which must be fulfilled for an alert to be reported.

Transaction-Specific Dialog Monitor

You can use this monitor to monitor the response times of individual transactions or clients, which enables you to check Service Level Agreements.

Virus Scan Servers

The SAP Virus Scan Server is an executable program that allows the inclusion of virus scanners from certified vendors using an interface and provides scan services to the application servers of the system as a registered RFC server. You can use this monitor to monitor this program (see Application Server or Self-Starter).
