Use

You can control the program using the keyboard. Use the following shortcut keys to achieve the described effect.

 

Prerequisite

If you want to place objects and draw connections, you need a mouse.

 

Procedure

Note

If the following key combinations are already in use by SAP functions, use the control or shift key as well

Alt + <Letter>

Enables buttons in dialog boxes. The buttons with an underlined letter can be enabled in this way.

Alt + Enter

Opens the Properties dialog box for the selected item.

Alt + F4

Exits the program. If changed models have not yet been saved, the system displays a message to notify you. You can decide whether or not to save the changes.

Page Up

Moves the model window contents down (the contents of the model window that are further up will be displayed).

Page Down

Moves the model window contents up (the contents of the model window that are further down will be displayed).

Del

Removes the selected items.

Esc

Removes selections and closes dialog boxes. Closing dialog boxes with the ESC key corresponds to clicking on Cancel.

F2

Selects the object name of a selected object for editing.

F5

Updates the current view based on the database changes.

F6

Toggles the connection mode (Edit/Toggle connection mode).

F7

Starts the check.

F8

Opens Attribute Editing for selected items.

F10

Enables the menu bar.

Minus key (-)

Reduces the model by 10%.

Plus key (+)

Enlarges the model by 10%.

Asterisk (*) on the number pad

Places the entire model or selected objects entirely in the visible area.

Arrow to left

Moves the model window contents to the right (the contents of the model window that are further to the left will be displayed).

Up Arrow

Moves the model window contents down (the contents of the model window that are further up will be displayed).

Arrow to right

Moves the model window contents to the left (the contents of the model window that are further to the right will be displayed).

Down Arrow

Moves the model window contents up (the contents of the model window that are further down will be displayed).

Ctrl + A

Selects all items.

Ctrl + C

Copies selected items to the clipboard. This allows you to paste copied items from the clipboard into models/diagrams and into other Windows programs. If you paste items into models, they retain their model/UML specific properties (e.g., attributes). If you paste them into other Windows programs, only the graphic in EMF format is used.

Ctrl + Enter

Inserts a line break for free-form texts, object names, etc.

Ctrl + End

Model window: Displays the bottom right pane of the model window.

Attribute tab page (This graphic is explained in the accompanying text): Displays the end of the list.

Ctrl + F2

Opens the print preview.

Ctrl + F4

Closes the active model window.

Ctrl + Left arrow

Moves selected items to the left by increments of one pixel.

Ctrl + Up Arrow

Moves selected items upwards by increments of one pixel.

Ctrl + Right arrow

Moves selected items to the right by increments of one pixel.

Ctrl + Down Arrow

Moves selected items downwards by increments of one pixel.

Ctrl + Home

Displays the top left pane of the model window.

Ctrl + S

Saves your changes.

Ctrl + V

Pastes the content of the clipboard, if it is content that can be placed in the model window.

Ctrl + X

Cuts selected items and copies them to the clipboard.

Ctrl + Y

Redoes editing steps that were undone.

Ctrl + Z

Undoes preceding editing steps.

Tab

Opens the Select Object dialog box if you have selected the object name of an object for editing.

Shift + Asterisk (*) (on the alphanumeric keyboard)

Places the entire model or selected objects entirely in the visible area.

Shift + Left arrow

Moves selected objects to the left by increments of one gridline.

Shift + Up arrow

Moves selected objects upwards by increments of one gridline.

Shift + Right arrow

Moves selected objects to the right by increments of one gridline.

Shift + Down arrow

Moves selected objects downwards by increments of one gridline.
