Procedure documentation Triggering OMS Re-Configuration  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

 Use

If you are using RFC callback status reporting, the OMS callback client must always be aware of the current configuration of your SAP spool system, that is, the defined devices (if device callback is activated) and the defined LOMSs.

Every time you make changes to the spool system, the callback client is automatically told to reconfigure itself. This occurs the next time the callback client contacts the SAP System.

You can see when a reconfiguration is to take place: If changes have been made to a LOMS, theReconfiguration required indicator is activated in the ROMS definition. If a device–list reconfiguration is required, the reconfiguration indicator in the affected LOMS definition is switched on.

After the callback client reconfigures itself, it deactivates these indicators. In this way, you can check whether a reconfiguration has taken place.

Procedure

You can require the callback client to reconfigure itself even when you have not made changes to the spool system configuration.

To do so, do the following:

...

       1.      Call transaction SPAD, and choose Extended Administration or Full Administration.

       2.      Then, on the Output Management Systems tab page, choose Real Output Management Systems.

The list of defined ROMSs appears.

       3.      Select the relevant ROMS.

       4.      To have the callback client refresh its device information, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Devices.

The reconfiguration flags are activated in all of the LOMS that reference the ROMS. The callback client will refresh its device information the next time it contacts the SAP System.

       5.      To have the callback client refresh its LOMS callback information (such as the target SAP server for callbacks), choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Callback.

The reconfiguration indicators are updated in the ROMS definition. The callback client updates its LOMS information the next time it contacts the SAP System.
