Use

The output log displays important details about output.

Features

The system records the following information in an output log:

·        Errors that occur during the processing of an output request.

·        Messages from the SAP spool work process

·        Messages returned by the host spooler

·        Attributes of the output request

Activities

You have the following options for creating output logs:

·        If print problems occur, the system automatically creates an error log:

The This graphic is explained in the accompanying text icon in the overview of output requests indicates for which requests a log exists. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to display the log.

The first screen of an error log presents summary information. You can also display more detailed log information by choosing All Info.

·        The administrator can also set up targeted output logging:

A log does not always mean that there is an error. When you are defining the printer, you can specify that the print data is logged in each case, for example, for test purposes. For more information, see Logging Output Data.
