More information about ABAP Web services: Web Services.

End of the note.

Procedure

  1. Start transaction GRMG.

  2. Choose the button   Edit/Delete   Create Scenarios for ABAP WS  . The Configure GRMG Heartbeat Monitoring for ABAP Web Services screen appears.

  3. To create the availability monitoring, GRMG requires the data for your system landscape. This can be taken from the System Landscape Directory (SLD) or from the CCMS. The system first attempts to take the system landscape information from the SLD. If problems occur when during this attempt, these are displayed on the screen. In this case, choose the Read System Landscape from CCMS Only button. Then choose the Rebuild System List button.

  4. Enter the required logon data for the ABAP system for which you want to monitor a Web service. This is:

    • To read all of the system's existing Web services, you require a user with administration authorization. Enter the corresponding user data in the area Admin Logon Data for Selected System: Read Web Services.

    • For the availability monitoring itself, you require a user that can use the desired Web service. Enter the logon data for this user in the area Logon Data for GRMG Heartbeat Logon.

  5. Depending on the type of connection from the central monitoring system to the monitored ABAP system, it can be necessary to enter additional connection data in the area Logon Data for Proxy Logon, if Required.

  6. Once you have entered the logon data, choose the system for which you want to monitor Web services, by expanding the system list and the desired system in the area Systems of the Landscape (SLD or CCMS).

    Note Note

You may then have to Specify HTTP/S Host and Port for the monitored system. In this case, a corresponding screen appears, on which you can enter this data. Choose Continue Then collapse and expand the system again in the list.

    End of the note.
  7. All Web services that are reported by the system are now displayed in the ABAP Web Services and URLs area.

  8. Select the Web service that you want to monitor, and choose the Activate GRMG Heartbeat Monitoring button.

  9. The system displays a message that monitoring of the selected service has been activated. The message also shows the name and version of the associated GRMG scenario. Return to transaction GRMG by choosing the Back (Back) button.

  10. The scenario that you have just created is shown in the list GRMG Scenarios for Availability Monitoring. To start the availability monitoring, select the scenario, and choose the Start (Start) button.
