Procedure documentationCreating a Copy of a Data Object Node Locate this document in the navigation structure

You can create a copy of a data object node and modify it according to your requirements. Doing this ensures that you do not have to create a new data object node from the beginning and allows you to reuse an existing data object node.

You can copy a data object node to the same data object.

Prerequisites

The status of the data object must be active.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the NetWeaver AS and start transaction SDOE_WB.

  2. In the Data Orchestration Workbench, click the data object node you want to copy with the secondary mouse button and choose Copy Node.

  3. Under Destination Data Object, enter the following details.

    Field name

    Description

    User action and values

    Comment

    SWCV Name

Displays the name of the software component version under which the data object node was created

Choose F4 to select the required software component version if required.

You can copy a node to target data objects within the same software component version or a different software component version.

    Data Object Name

Indicates the name of the data object

Enter the name of the target data object or choose F4 to select the target data object from the list.

    Parent Segment

Indicates the name of the root node

Enter the name of the parent node or choose F4 to select parent node from the list (if required).

If the target data object does not have a root node, then this node is copied as the root node. Alternatively, if the target data object has only the root node, then this node can be copied as a child node only. In this case, you must specify the name of the root node in this field. However, if the target data object has a root node and child nodes, then this node can be copied as a child node. You must then specify accordingly the name of the parent node.

    Note Note

If you copy a node that contains child nodes, you are asked whether you want all the child nodes to be copied to the target data object along with the parent node.

    End of the note.
    1. Under Node Details, in the Destination Node field, enter a name for the node (if required).

      Note Note

If the source and target data objects are the same, you are prompted to change the name of the destination node as data object nodes must have unique names.

      End of the note.
    2. Choose Copy.

The node is copied to the target data object at the hierarchy level you specify.
