Procedure documentationAssigning an Output Device to a Pool  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

To create a printer pool proceed as follows:

...

       1.      Call Spool Administration (transaction SPAD), and, on the Devices/Servers tab page, choose Output Devices. If you are not in change mode, switch to this mode by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying textChange.

       2.      Choose Output Device Create.

       3.      Enter a name.

This is the name users will use to access the pool.

       4.      On the Host Spool Access Method tab page, choose the access method P for device pool, and confirm your input.

       5.      On the Device Attributes tab page, enter the device type of the printers that are to be included in the pool.

In general, all printers that you include in a pool should have the same device type. The spool system uses the device type to decide how to format an output request.

       6.      You should also choose the appropriate pool type as the device class on the Device Attributes tab page.

       7.      Choose the Device Pool tab page and add the individual devices to the pool.

When doing this, you must choose enter after every device entry to be able to add another device.

       8.      Finally, select whether the requests should be sent to one device, to all devices in the pool, or whether copies should be distributed to the devices in the pool.
