Background documentation Postal Address Data Plausibility Checks  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Address plausibility checks are automatically activated with the connection to Business Address Services. They check whether address components satisfy certain rules and are, therefore, plausible.

Example

The rule for postal codes for the country "DE" is five-character, numeric, without gaps. Therefore, a postal code with only four characters, for example, is not valid for an address in Germany.

Address plausibility checks are implemented mainly in the function module ADDR_POSTAL_CODE_CHECK.

The checks are dependent on several parameters, which are contained mainly in the country table T005 (delivery class C: Customizing table). This table is delivered with default values.

If necessary, the country table can be maintained in the SAP Reference IMG (transaction SPRO) under General Settings Maintain countries.
