Function documentation Transport Link for the SAP Regional Structure  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The SAP Regional Structure has a transport link for transporting its Customizing data that exists in one system or client, into another system or client. This is important because the Customizing objects of the SAP Regional Structure depend on a particular system or client. In many cases you may want to make changes to the Customizing objects in your system landscape only in a special Customizing system or source system, and then update your target systems with these changes. The transport link of the SAP Regional Structure allows you to synchronize Customizing data in your source and target systems, thus facilitating cross-system processes.

Integration

The Customizing of the SAP Regional Structure is synchronized with the help of the SAP Solution Manager. For more information, see the SAP Library at help.sap.comDocumentation → SAP Solution Manager.

Prerequisites

You have configured the SAP Solution Manager according to its Configuration Guide for the scenario Implementation and Distribution. For more information, see the SAP Library at help.sap.com  Documentation  SAP Solution Manager  Customizing Synchronization  Customizing Distribution  Types of Customizing Distribution  Initial Distribution.

To use all the functions offered by the transport link of the SAP Regional Structure, you must have installed Release SAP Web AS 6.40 or higher.

Features

The Customizing objects of the SAP Regional Structure consist of:

The tables ADRPSTCODE, ADRCITY, ADRCITYT, ADRPCDCITY, ADRPOBOX, ADRCITYPRT, ADRSTREET, ADRSTREETT and ADRSTRPCD for postal reference data. These tables contain the objects ‘postal codes’, ‘cities’, ‘PO box’, ‘districts’, ‘streets’ and their relationships to one another.

The difference tables ADRDIFINFO, ADRDIF_PC, ADRDIF_CT, ADRDIF_PO, ADRDIF_CP and ADRDIF_ST for the quarterly adjustment.

All these tables can either be filled manually using the transactions SR10, SR11, SR12, SR20, SR21, SR22, SR30, SR31 and SR32, or by means of mass updates using the report RSADRLSM02. The entries in the difference tables are always written automatically.

Initial Distribution

Regardless of how the tables are filled, their entire contents can be distributed initially using the SAP Solution Manager. No transport requests are created in the source system. Instead, the entire contents of these tables are transferred using defined synchronization objects by the Solution Manager to the connected target systems.

NoteThis does not apply to any filter settings that you have entered. For more information on filter conditions, see the SAP Library at help.sap.comDocumentation → SAP Solution Manager →   Customizing SynchronizationCustomizing Distribution → Synchronization Group Editor → Specify Filter Conditions.

The Solution Manager then creates the required transport requests in the target systems so that follow-on systems in the transport track can be supplied with data.

For more information on setting up initial distribution, see the SAP Library at help.sap.com  Documentation  SAP Solution Manager  Customizing Synchronization  Customizing Distribution  Types of Customizing Distribution  Initial Distribution.

Automatic Customizing Distribution

After initial distribution, you can also distribute Customizing changes by means of automatic Customizing distribution in the source system. If changes have been made, the relevant table entries are written to a transport request in the source system and then transferred to the target system by means of the automatic Customizing distribution of the SAP Solution Manager. This is supported only for the data maintained using the transactions SR10, SR11, SR12, SR20, SR21, SR22, SR30, SR31 and SR32.

In the case of data maintained using the report RSADRLSM02, initial distribution is used by the transport link of the Regional Structure to distribute both new and changed data.

For more information on automatic Customizing distribution, see the SAP Library at help.sap.comDocumentation → SAP Solution Manager → Customizing SynchronizationCustomizing Distribution → Types of Customizing Distribution  Setup Automatic Customizing Distribution.

NoteYou should note that for both initial distribution and automatic Customizing distribution only the Customizing tables mentioned above under ‘Features’ are synchronized. This is not the case for the dependent table ADRC, as it is not a Customizing table, but rather an application table of the delivery class ‘A’. It must therefore be synchronized separately for each system and client by the quarterly adjustment. For this reason, the field CAMUPDATED, which indicates whether the quarterly adjustment has already been carried out for the current number (field CONSNUMBER), in the difference table ADRDIFINFO is initialized in every target system, even if the quarterly adjustment has already been carried out in the source system.

Activities

You customize the Regional Structure with the help of the SAP Solution Manager.

       1.      Make the required system settings. For more information, see the SAP Library at help.sap.comDocumentation → SAP Solution Manager → Customizing Synchronization → Prerequisites for Customizing Distribution and Customizing Scout.

       2.      Create a synchronization group for the Regional Structure. For more information, see the SAP Library at help.sap.comDocumentation → SAP Solution Manager →   Customizing Synchronization → Customizing Distribution → Synchronization Group Editor.

       3.      Upload the synchronization objects of the Regional Structure to the SAP Solution Manager. For more information, see the SAP Library at help.sap.comDocumentation → SAP Solution Manager → Customizing SynchronizationCreate and Load Synchronization Objects.

       4.      Include the predefined synchronization objects BC_BC_ADDR_REGSTRUC_PART_1 and BC_BC_ADDR_REGSTRUC_PART_2 in the synchronization group. For more information, see the SAP Library at help.sap.com  Documentation  SAP Solution Manager     Customizing Synchronization  Customizing Distribution   Synchronization Group Editor   Create Synchronization Group.

       5.      You can specify filter conditions for the synchronization group, such as activating or deactivating the distribution for certain countries. For more information, see the SAP Library at help.sap.comDocumentation → SAP Solution Manager → Customizing SynchronizationCustomizing DistributionSynchronization Group EditorSpecify Filter Conditions.

       6.      Set up initial or automatic Customizing distribution. For more information, see the SAP Library at help.sap.comDocumentationSAP Solution ManagerCustomizing Synchronization Customizing Distribution  Types of Customizing Distribution.
