Use

You use the System Connection Tests tool to verify that the current system is properly connected to the back-end application that it represents.

The three tests that you can perform are:

Connection Test for Connectors

This test checks the connection to non-SAP systems and consists of:

Retrieving the default alias of the system

Checking the connection, using the connector defined in the system

System Connection Test - ITS Connection

This test checks the connection to an SAP Internet Transaction Server and consists of:

Checking that the system object defines an SAP system

      Validating the following parameters: wap.ITS.path; wap.ITS.protocol; wap.ITS.hostname

Checking the HTTP/S connection to the defined back-end application

System Connection Test - WAS Connection

This test checks the connection to an SAP Web Application Server and consists of:

Checking that the system object defines an SAP system

Validating the following parameters: wap.WAS.protocol; wap.WAS.hostname

Checking the HTTP/S connection to the defined back-end application

Performing the Tests

To perform a connection test on a system, do the following:

...

       1.      In the portal, navigate to System Administration System Configuration System Landscape.

       2.      In the Portal Catalog, right-click the system and choose Open Connection Tests.

       3.      In the System Connection Tests tool interface, mark the tests you want to perform and click Test.

The tool runs only the tests that are selected.

It is possible to run all three tests simultaneously, and receive results for each test.

Clear Results opens a new instance of the test in the same window.

A simple connection verification can also be run from the System Landscape Overview.
