Defining a Variant to Archive the Log and Trace Tables 

Use

A variant allows you to define conditions based on which you can archive the data in the log and trace tables. For example, you can define a variant to archive the data for a specific time period, such as data for the last six months.

Procedure

...

       1.      Log on to the SAP NetWeaver AS and start transaction SDOE_WRITELOG.

       2.      Enter the environment, process ID, sub process ID, and sequence number.

       3.      Under Further Selection Criteria, select the required time period.

       4.      Under Date Selection, enter the required dates.

This step is applicable only if you select the Date Range option in step 3.

       5.      Under Processing Options, select the required mode.

       6.      In the Detail Log field, select the required option.

       7.      In the Log Output field, select the required output option.

       8.      In the Archiving Session Note field, enter a note for the session if required.

       9.      Choose Save.
